About us

Nick Davis,
Director

Nick has worked in a variety of roles since joining the financial services industry in 1985. He has held various positions with several major industry-leading organisations, ranging from product administration, customer service and adviser development through to licensee roles.

Immediately prior to establishing Plans Plus Australia Pty Ltd, Nick held the position of Business Development & Compliance Manager with AMP Financial Planning, which provided him with an insight into both the compliance issues facing our industry, and also the day-to-day issues facing financial planners in today’s marketplace.

Nick is currently the director of Plans Plus Australia Pty Ltd – an independent paraplanning business, which was established in 2000 and provides back-office support for a number of licensees both at a local and national level.

The boutique nature of Plans Plus enables it to tailor paraplanning solutions to the needs of its clients, thereby avoiding the “one size fits all” mindset that is all too often evident with larger, licensee-based paraplanning services.

Joanna Bates,
Senior Paraplanner

Joanna has worked in the financial services industry since 2001 following the completion of her Bachelor of Commerce degree (Economics and Finance) at Curtin University.

Starting out in a customer service/sales role for a credit society, Joanna soon developed an interest in financial planning seeing her move into the industry in 2003. Her first role was as an Adviser Support Officer which involved her providing administration and customer service support to financial planners and their clients.

Keen to develop her technical skills, from 2006 Joanna moved into Paraplanning and Technical Adviser roles for a number of companies including Plan B Wealth Management and Colonial First State and at the same time completed her Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning).

Joanna left the workforce in 2012 due to the birth of her daughter and returned in 2013 as a Paraplanner for Plans Plus where she enjoys preparing Statement of Advice documents of all levels of complexity.

Joanna’s Paraplanner and Technical Adviser roles have allowed her to gain strong technical knowledge and experience in formulating and analysing strategies and in the preparation of Statement of Advice documents in a variety of areas including wealth creation, superannuation, retirement planning, risk management, social security and aged care.
